Craig Baker is co-founder and Managing Shareholder of BakerLopez, with over 20 years of experience. Craig’s transactional commercial real estate practice is intentionally comprehensive. He regularly represents sponsors, equity investors, investment and development companies, landlords, tenant, lenders, borrowers, owners/users, sellers and purchasers in multi-family, office, industrial, health care, hospitality, and retail (with a specific expertise in representing retailers and restaurant tenants).
Craig is known for his ability to handle complex real estate transactions of all types, including equity and debt structuring, and negotiating acquisition, disposition, leasing, partnership, limited liability company and joint venture agreements. Prior to co-founding BakerLopez, Craig was a partner at the law firm of Gardere (now known as Foley Gardere).
Craig is a Texas Super Lawyer and D Magazine Best Lawyer in Dallas, both of which are distinguished award honors based on nomination by his fellow peers in the legal community.
Craig currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association and is an elected Team Host for the Cotton Bowl Classic football game held annually at AT&T Stadium. He is a past member of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Team Selection Committee and has served as a board member of Downtown Dallas and as a member of the Real Estate Council (TREC). Craig also serves on the Board of Advocates of the Baylor University College of Arts and Sciences. Craig is a 2004 alumnus of TREC’s Associate Leadership Council and is a member of the Texas State Bar Real Estate Section, the Dallas Bar Association, the Baylor Bear Athletic Foundation, Highland Park United Methodist Church and Royal Oaks Country Club.
Craig received his B.A. in Business Administration from Baylor University and graduated cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he served on the Texas Tech Law Review and its Board of Editors.
Craig and his wife Rebecca reside in Dallas and share four wonderful children (3 boys and 1 girl).
